Aftercare

Tattoo Aftercare

How you take care of your Tattoo will directly affect the results of your procedure. Healing takes on average 10-14 days but may take additional time.

    • Avoid contact with water for the first 24-48 hours if possible.

    • When washing hands be extra gentle if your tattoo is on your hands, especially when drying the hands (pat dry rather than wiping and avoid the use of air dryers where possible as they are prone to harbouring bacteria). Use loose fitting gloves to protect the hands whenever possible (washing dishes, gardening, using household cleansers, etc) to avoid unwanted materials and substances from entering the healing tattoo.

    • Do not pick, scratch or otherwise touch your tattoo. Premature removal of scabs will result in a faded and uneven tattoo and in severe cases can cause scarring.

    • You may lightly moisturize the area with an unscented moisturizer no more than twice daily, if necessary.

    • Due to the chosen area of the tattoo, healing can be unpredictable, touchups are generally required.

Microblading Aftercare

    • Avoid touching, rubbing, picking, or wetting the brow area for a week to 10 days.

    • Avoid using any harsh skin care products.

    • Avoid retinol creams

    • Try to avoid sweating for 5 days. (When your skin sweats it produces salts and the salt can pull the pigment from your brow)

    • Apply your aftercare morning and night on clean brows

    • When washing the brow area do not rub, simply pat dry

    • Do not let any lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days

    • Your brows will go through a process during the first 10 days of healing. You will see the brows darkest on the first 1-2 days. From there the brow pigment will lighten up to 30% and the hair strokes will shrink roughly 15%. The first 1-2 days they may feel itchy as your skin begins to heal and then around day 5 you will notice they begin to flake like a gentle sunburn. It is important not to scratch the area. If you are feeling itchy then apply more of the aftercare cream.

    • You will then want to make sure you are booked in for your Perfecting Visit with Alyssa. This can happen anywhere from week 6-8 of the healing process. This time frame allows Alyssa to see how your skin has absorbed the pigments so she can assess if for your second visit if we can go darker or deeper with your strokes. This visit is also where all the details takes places and allows your brow strokes to become hyper realistic with cross strokes and building density.

Lip Blush Aftercare

Lip Blush post-care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your new lips. Please read the following aftercare instructions carefully:

DAY 1

Immediately following the procedure, lips will feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. They may appear swollen and bright in color.

For 4 hours after treatment, apply light pressure on lips with a clean paper towel, to remove any lymph. After 4 hours, start applying ointment (Aquaphor) as needed to keep lips constantly moist

No kissing, rubbing or friction on treatment area

DAY 1-3

Apply ointment on lips several times a day. Keep lips moist at all times. Avoid oily, spicy and heavily seasoned food and drink with a straw. After every meal gently rinse and clean lips with water and pat dry, then re-apply ointment.

DAY 4-7

Between these days, lips will begin and end the process of peeling, and color will lighten by 30%-50%.
Do not pick or rub your lips and let the peeling happen naturally. Continue keeping your lips moist!

WEEK 2

Lips are done peeling, color is light. You may return to normal routines. Lips will continue to heal, up to 6 weeks. Every week more color will surface, it is important to continue keeping lips moist to get the best color at the end of the healing phase.

WEEK 6-8

Your lips are healed! Just add some lip gloss and go! In most cases it requires two treatments to complete the lip transformation.

The following must be avoided during all 14 days post treatment:

    • Increased sweating
    • Practicing sports
    • Swimming
    • Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi
    • Sun tanning or salon tanning
    • Exposure to UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading
    • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the treatment area
    • Touching of the treatment area except for when applying the post-care ointment with a cotton swab
    • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the treatment area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment
    • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris
    • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
    • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles
    • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds
    • Wait 8 weeks before any botox or lip injections

Freckles Aftercare

    • The dots will appear slightly swollen and dark immediately after tattooing, side effects typically start to dissipate after only a few hours—healing completely after two weeks or less.

    • It will take anywhere from three days to two weeks for the tattoos to fully heal, and the color of the dots will fade out to a natural-looking color over the following month or two. Keep in mind that tattooed freckles aren’t permanent. Because they’re created using the same pigment that’s used for eyebrow microblading, the ink will only stay in your skin for one to three years, with nose freckles fading the slowest due to a lack of fat in the area.

    • Keep your face dry for 24 hours. After that, make sure that you're using a very mild soap and moisturizing with a non-scented moisturizer.

    • Another tip is to not exfoliate the area too much. You want to let all those little freckle flakes fall off on their own terms. If you want a softer, more subtle look you can gently exfoliate the area at around seven to ten days post-tattoo.

Brow Lamination Aftercare

    • Do not get your brows wet within the first 24 hours.

    • Do not apply makeup or receive any treatments around the brow area within the first 24 hours.

    • Use a brow conditioner daily.

    • Avoid rubbing or excessive touching of the brows.

Permanent Jewelry Aftercare

  • With Alyssa's pieces she is happy to reweld for her clients who need a piece removed or if a piece breaks at the weld for any reason.
  • It is recommended to keep your chains cleaned using a fabric cloth that can be purchased from almost anywhere or your sunglasses  case.
